Group Population Paper
In anticipation of developing a group manual for the final project, you will be asked to develop a 5–6-page, APA-formatted paper (including a reference page) introducing the population for which you wish to develop a group. The paper should draw on a review of the literature, highlighting the issues and concerns that your identified population is dealing with, best practices regarding interventions, and how a group might assist them to improve their level of social functioning and overall quality of life.
This assignment will utilize a peer review. This will allow you to 1) practice providing feedback that is direct, kind, and critical and 2) receive valuable feedback before your final submission. Throughout this assignment sheet, “AUTHOR” is you. The “PEER REVIEWER” is the student assigned to review your paper and provide feedback to you.
When choosing a population, please consider how broad that population is. For example, a group for “Men transitioning to adulthood” would likely be far too broad. However, if you wanted to explore Men transitioning to higher education, with an emphasis on any region, you would be fine.
The group you chose for this will help you formulate your final group manual. This population is the group that your manual will be based on.
Step one: Choose a population and begin to find research surrounding this population.
Step two: Complete rough draft: Submit a rough draft to Blackboard.
Step three: Review your partner’s paper and provide feedback based on the rubric below. Submit your peer feedback to Blackboard and to the author by the due date.
Step four: The Author will use the feedback and submit the final paper by the due date.
Step five: The Author will complete the “Peer Feedback Review” form (below) on the Peer Reviewer who provided feedback to them.
Step Six: Upload to Blackboard 1) Rough draft, 2) Peer reviewer feedback you were provided, and 3) Your final draft.
Step Seven: There will also be a link to upload the feedback you provided to your partner. You will receive a grade based on this feedback.
