First day writing

In this class we will be using comedy to help us understand rhetoric. You will be selecting a primary source relevant to comedy and working with that source all semester. 

I'm interested in reading about your experience with comedy and what your specific interests are. What are some of your favorite comedies/comedians? This can include stand-up comics, SNL sketches, cartoons, memes, etc. 

Why do these favorites appeal to you specifically? 

Can you name some craft elements these comedians/comedies employ? For example, political satire, irony, absurdity, etc. Do your best here––this doesn't need to be a formal, scholarly analysis. 

Please compose your responses in standard 12 pt font, double-spaced, and saved in a .doc. There is no word minimum; just please answer to the best of your abilities.
