n the news recently, a major defense contract cut employee compensation across the board, lets thousands of its employees go, and increased CEO pay dramatically.   

Read the two articles below – the first from the NY Times and the second from Bloomberg news.  Then, tell us what the company’s justification for these moves were, how this aligns with what you just learned about compensation this week, and how you would advise executives considering such a move, if you were their HR leader.

Don’t forget to adhere to the usual deadlines for posting and responding in weekly discussions and to review and comment on the initial posts of at least two of your peers.
