 Hello Class in this week topic I will be discussing How effective are police officer body camera initiatives impacting on policing leadership and officer accountability. This topic is very interesting to because I myself find this approach to be the best practice for both the citizen and the officer safety in telling th facts that has happen when police encounter happen .Police officers have faced a scrutiny following a fatal incident which involved encounter between unarmed black men and the police in New York City. This particular incident has renewed calls for law enforcement officers to wear body cameras while on duty.  The police officer’s body cameras initiative plays an integral role in shaping the accountability and behavior of enforcement officers. It is a vital tool in the society where illegal use of excess force by police is curbed through publication of such acts on the television and on internets.  The operations work environment of enforcement officer is more often harsh, unpredictable and full of uncertainties. Therefore these body cameras serves as a contributing mechanisms to increase the officer’s accountability, transparency and above all building trust before the public eyes. According to a report by (Police camera body, 2016), this technology in particular has revitalized police- public relations and prevented backlash cases between the police and the civilians .
