Pick a disorder from the (DSM),The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders,  that is of interest to you, and do some research on how stress interfaces with that disorder.  It does not have to be one of the disorders that we’ve covered in class (borderline personality disorder, PTSD, etc.) or it can be one that we’ve covered; the choice is yours.  What happens in terms of the stress systems in the body?  How are symptoms exacerbated by stress?  What are some of the known means of treating it, and how do those affect the HPA axis and the other stress systems in the body?  (Therapy, pharmaceutical drugs, other therapies, etc.)
