Effective Education

Effective  Education: International and American Perspectives: Read Chapters 15  & 16 International Education & School Effectiveness and Reform  in the United States.

I taught in a variety of different places and local culture plays a  key role in defining the educational system of a community. For example,  here in MS Yes Sir and strong discipline are interwoven through-out the  educational environment-this is related to Southern culture. It is the  hidden curriculum. This is not the case in other parts of the US  (particularly the north east where I am from).

As you read these chapters, consider What are the similarities and  differences in educational systems in different countries? What do you  admire about another educational system? What do you admire about our  education?
