“Corporate strategies aimed at maximising shareholder value necessarily mean organising the division of labour to deskill employees”. Discuss
There are two elements to this question:
firstly, the relationship between corporate governance strategies located in maximising shareholder value and the division of labour practise of deskilling
Secondly, an assessment of this relationship, if you believe it exists, in terms of whether or not benefits society, employees, shareholders, some or all of the society etc.
To answer the question issues such as ‘retain and reinvest’, ‘downsize and distribute’, the division of labour, deskilling, work as boring/creative, people as consumers, the benefits or otherwise of capitalism to the whole of society, etc. might be examined.
