Effective conflict management often includes using restorative practices. In this discussion, you will explore how to take conflict management to the next level by applying restorative practices.

Discussing challenges that face our world often means investigating opinions and ideas different from your own. Remember to remain thoughtful and respectful towards your peers and instructor in your initial and response discussion posts.

For your initial post, address the following:

Write 1 to2 paragraphs.

1. What is one example of a conflict situation you have seen in films, television shows, or books?

2. How could you apply restorative practices in the situation?

3. How could being vulnerable, having an open mind, and considering others help with navigating the conflict identified in the situation?

Use this resource to complete this week’s discussion. As you read, consider the following:

· What are restorative practices?

· How can restorative practices be used to bridge differences and foster and restore relationships?

Video:  The Power of Vulnerability  (20:03) This video discusses the power of opening yourself up to and the benefits that can come from vulnerability. While it is not always comfortable, Brené Brown describes the necessity of vulnerability for meaningful connections and how that can relate to our willingness to take risks and grow. This video will help you complete this module’s discussion. As you watch, consider the following:

· What benefits can come from vulnerability in a work or educational setting?

· How can vulnerability help you navigate conflict you may experience in your daily life?

· How can you make the vulnerability you may experience in giving or receiving feedback a beneficial experience?

Video:  Keeping an Open Mind  (4:16) This video, which you first encountered at the beginning of the course, encourages you to prioritize an open mind, humility, and curiosity as you navigate through the course and interact with your peers. This resource will help you complete this module’s discussion. As you view, consider the message of this video as it relates to the concepts of this module. Specifically, consider the following:

· How can having empathy, humility, and curiosity, and listening to other people’s perspectives, help you navigate conflict?

· Why is it important to keep an open mind when navigating conflict?
