Discussion question is already answered. I just need to respond to me classmates, and answer questions the professor is asking.

This is the discussion question:

What principles from GCU's mission, vision, and Christian mission that you read about in this week's readings can you implement in your career, personal or spiritual life?

This is my answer for this question:

Grand Canyon University's mission, vision, and Christian mission, as outlined in this week's readings, present a profound set of values that can be utilized to upgrade one's occupation, individual life, and internal voyage. These instructive standards not just cultivate individual improvement yet additionally invigorate kind favorable commitments to the more extensive network and culture.

One principle from GCU's mission and Christian mission is the accentuation on altruistic leadership. This concept foregrounds the significance of unselfishness, modesty, and an avowal to lending a hand to others. In my professional life, I can practice this guideline by taking on a supervisory tone that concentrates on the wellbeing and growth of my teammates (Eva et al, 2019). By serving those I lead, I can foster a collaborative and supportive work environment, ultimately driving organizational success.

Another valuable principle is the promotion of lifelong learning. GCU's mission encourages continuous intellectual and personal growth. I can apply this principle in my career by adopting a growth mindset, actively seeking opportunities for professional development, and staying abreast of industry trends (Eva et al, 2019). This commitment to learning ensures that I remain adaptable and capable of contributing meaningfully to my field.

GCU's Christian mission also emphasizes the importance of faith and spiritual growth. Incorporating this principle into my personal life involves nurturing my faith through prayer, reflection, and engagement with a faith community (Zarzycka & Zietek, 2019). It reminds me to prioritize spiritual well-being, which can bring a sense of purpose, inner peace, and resilience in the face of life's challenges.

Moreover, the mission and vision statements stress the significance of community engagement and global responsibility. In my personal life, I can actively seek opportunities for community service, volunteering, and advocacy for social justice causes. By doing so, I contribute to making the world a better place while aligning with GCU's commitment to positive societal impact.

After reading GCU's mission statement, I believe that all of the principles mentioned are important to implement into our lives. GCU is a Christ-centered University and offers us knowledge of the Christian worldview. I grew up in a Christian family with my grandpa being a preacher, already having this background and being raised the way I was I think two of the most important principles that should be implemented in our careers, person and spiritual life are compassion and empathy. The bible says "Put on then, as God's chosen one's, holy and beloved. Compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness and patience, bearing with one another, and if one has a complaint against another, forgiving eachother: as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive" - Colossians 3:12-13

These principles, for me in the career I plan to have and in my personal and spiritual life are important because without compassion and empathy, we can not fully accept people or understand them. This leads to lack of successful and meaningful connections. In the career I hope to have, I believe that I must be able to form bonds and build trust and if I dont express empathy and compassion for the things the have been through or are going through, they are not going to trust that I am there to help. In my personal life, the same applies. It is hard to have successful relationships without these principles, you can not build meaningful bonds with people, have trust and respect in relationships if communication can not take place for fear of judgement or feeling misunderstood. As for my spiritual life, I can not live in God's image if I do not show the same compassion to others, as God has shown me.

After reading GCU's mission, I really started to think about more aspects of life. I always lived with my mind set on one thing and keep it there. I do not really look to expand my horizons which could be a bad thing. GCU i feel can really help me start to look for new opportunities and to become a better person all around. I hope that I can learn to implement many of new knowledge into my career here at GCU. I really look forward to learning a bunch of new information and to use it throughout my life.

Topic 2 Wrap Up

Class,

Great job making through the first two weeks of class! In week one you got familiarized with the learning management system Loudcloud. In week two you were introduced to the GCU library and the wealth of information that will help with any topic you decide on. As you move into your third week, I would like you to think about the following questions:

·        What are a few reason to use the GCU Library over a simple Google Search?

·        Why is it important to use Peer Reviewed material?
