Mitigating Characteristics

Pick any one of these three personal characteristics: 

1. Low self-control
2. Holding beliefs favorable to crime
3. Associating with delinquent peers 

How would the characteristic that you've chosen mitigate the deterrence that Stafford and Warr discuss? Provide an example of a crime and the criminal who would not be deterred because of these mitigating factors?
