DB2: Critiquing Criminal Justice Press Briefings

For this discussion, you will choose two real  criminal justice press briefings to watch, critique, and compare. You  may use the suggested briefings and pairings provided in the module, or  you may choose your own examples.

Before completing your post, review  the full assignment guidance in the Module 2 materials, including the  standards for effective crisis communication and the suggested press  briefing list.

Your initial post should include:

1. A completed briefing information and evidence table for both press briefings.
2. A written comparative analysis explaining which briefing was more effective and why.
3. Specific examples from each briefing, including timestamps when helpful.
4. Discussion of later developments, including whether later information confirmed, complicated, or contradicted what officials said.
5. Connections to at least two course/module sources.
6. Links or citations for the briefings and any outside sources used.

Your post should not simply  summarize the briefings. Focus on evaluating how effectively each agency  communicated using standards such as accuracy, transparency, empathy,  clarity, accountability, handling uncertainty, treatment of victims and  families, and public trust.

Suggested length: A minimum of 7 paragraphs, not including the table or reference list.
