dealing with hacking

So many of you have mentioned hacking CAN be a good thing. And I don’t disagree. I found a video that brings more food for thought in this area. I do think that if people would use the skills for good not evil that life would be better all around. Don’t you?

How would we as a society determine what constitutes good hacking and bad hacking? How would we be able to monitor the good and the bad?

Would having good hackers open the door for more grey areas? Or do you think it would be more of an actual profession and people would want to be professional hackers to help companies?

So again I ask hacking ever acceptable? Why or why not?
