Interviewing Consumers Assignment
Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is to get you to focus on the dynamic nature of
consumer behavior.
Preparation Instructions: 1. Compose your response to this activity in Microsoft Word.
2. The paper should be formatted and typed using Times New Roman, 12-point font,
double-spaced, and one-inch margins (no exceptions).
3. The length of the paper should be at least 2 to 4 pages (excluding cover page and
reference page).
4. Use APA 6th edition formatting and use a minimum of 2 references.
5. The paper should contain a cover page and reference page.
Content Instructions: 1. Interview at least one consumer from each of the following age groups: 10–15 years old,
20–29 years old, 35–45 years old, and over 55 years old.
2. Ask the consumers for their preferred method of communicating: (a) friends, (b) family,
and (c) businesses. Also, ask them what types of products they use to communicate with
friends and family.
3. Address the following questions in your response:
a. Do the results suggest that they derive value from all communication technologies
to the same degree, or do they use different technologies to communicate?
b. Do you think the answers would be the same if you were dealing with consumers
from Europe, Mexico, or Japan?
c. How might firms cope with the dynamics of this situation?
