Case study
The purpose of this activity is to apply your understanding of exercise guidelines for special populations to a hypothetical client case study.
a. 56-year-old male client. Has a history of high blood pressure. Beginning a regular exercise
program has been recommended to him by his physician. Although he was an athlete when he
was younger, he has lived a primarily sedentary lifestyle for most of his adult life. He currently
weighs 245lbs and is 5’10”. He has indicated to you that his goals are to lose some weight and
re-build some strength and endurance as he has noticed his functional capacity for chores
around the house has declined in recent years.
