Cardiovascular process

Cardiovascular disease is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in the United States. Renal and genitourinary systems closely interact with the cardiovascular system and contribute to disease.

As  an advanced practice nurse, being able to synthesize the etiology and  physiologic processes of these disorders will enhance your ability to educate communities on healthy lifestyles which directly contributes to overall population health.

As you read and complete your coursework this week on cardiovascular, renal, and genitourinary diseases and conditions, connect what you are learning to a current or recent article that relates to one of the week’s topics.

Search for a recent journal article or an article from a professional or public health source in one of the following areas:

· Hypertension

· Heart failure

· Hyperlipidemia

· Acute kidney failure

· Chronic kidney failure

· Urinary tract infection (UTI)

Consider how the information in the article is important to your future role as an advanced practice nurse in education, administration, or informatics. In your response:
