PART 1: FAQs

You are to develop a plan to prepare parents and general educators for their participation in an interactive team. You will provide them with foundational knowledge about IEPs, including the referral process LRE, FAPE, Transition Plans and community partners. The plan will first include FAQ s for parents and teachers. This may be done as a flyer, a brochure, etc. (There are many free templates available online)

o Explanation of IEP process

o Explanation of eligibly with RtI, FAPE, LRE 

o Components of IEP- - 8 elements 

o Checklist for parent preparation for meeting 

o The role of parents as IEP team members, including transitional IEP's.

o Procedural safeguards – rights
