Uncompensated care continues to be a burden on safety-net hospitals in the United States. The Affordable Care Act (ACA) has had some impact on this burden. After reviewing the background materials and doing additional research, answer the following in a 2-page paper:
What is uncompensated care?
What are safety-net hospitals and how have they been impacted by uncompensated care?
Describe the impact that the ACA has had on uncompensated care.
Make policy recommendations to further address the issue of uncompensated care.

Case Assignment
One of the most significant health policy issues facing the United States is the continuing rise of health care costs. This is not a new concern and has been something confronting policymakers over the past several decades. After reviewing the articles below (also listed in the Background readings) and doing independent research, write a 3-page paper addressing the following:
1. What are the factors that are contributing to the continually rising costs of health care in the United States?
2. What is the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA)?
3. Discuss the health provisions within the IRA that are designed to address increasing health costs.
