A short essay (750 words) analyzing four sources, as a ‘state of the research’ analysis on your topic. 

The paper should: 

• articulate what questions scholars are asking about the topic 

• outline the types of evidence the arguments are based on 

• identify major points of agreement or disagreement 

• identify questions that have not been answered or perhaps not been raised in the discussion
