Research shows that how we VALUE the outcome of a task and our EXPECTATIONS for success determine our MOTIVATION. In this journal, you will reflect on the times you were most and least motivated by considering VALUE, EXPECTATIONS and MOTIVATION related to each situation. Read and respond to each question in each scenario completely.

(Scenario 1) Think of a time (i.e. project, class, job, etc.) when you were very motivated for success. Dive deep and describe this experience and the outcome in detail. How important was the outcome or experience to you? Think about your skills, abilities, knowledge, etc. and how challenging and demanding the task was. Before you started the task what were your expectations for success and was the effort required to achieve it reasonable for you?

(Scenario 2) Now think of a time when your motivation was very LOW. Dive deep and describe this project or experience and the outcome in detail. How important was the outcome or experience to you and how did you feel about it? Think about your skills, abilities, knowledge, etc. and how challenging and demanding the task was. Before you started the task what were your expectations for success and was the effort required to achieve it reasonable for you?

(Scenario 3) Think about the current semester. How would you describe you current level of motivation? Dive deep and describe the projects or courses you have to complete. How important is the outcome of these experiences to you and how did you feel about that? Think about your skills, abilities, knowledge, etc. and how challenging and demanding the task was. Before you started the task what were your expectations for success and was the effort required to achieve it reasonable for you?

Review all of your answers. What did you notice about yourself and what motivates you and what does not motivate you? Discuss how you can apply that to come up with strategies you can use to increase VALUE, EXPECTATIONS and MOTIVATION for academics this semester?

It`s a journal not a paper,So please write it like a person thought and experience. Do not have too many references inside, just like a journal and answer all questions above.
