A. Describe Your Search Method
Write a brief paragraph describing your online search method. Summarize how you found each of the two organizations you reviewed; then go into detail about how you were able to locate relevant information on each website.
B. Present Your Research Findings
Provide your classmates with context for your research findings by identifying the major you're pursuing and your critical inquiry question. Then address the following questions, making sure to cite your sources for quoted, paraphrased, and/or summarized information you include in your post:
- What organizations did you select to review and why?
- What activities is each organization engaged in to advance the field? What resources does it produce for its members or for the public? Does it sponsor any kind of education and training for its members? Does it publish a journal? Does it sponsor research? Does it engage in political activism to advance the profession? Does it engage in advocacy for a particular population of people in need?
- Were you able to find standards for the field on the website?
- Based on your review of each organization's website, what are topics of importance to the organization?
- How closely-related, if at all, are these topics to your own focus area?
