Over a 24-hour period, keep track of the number of times you use electronic media for non-school or work purposes. Note each time you check email, send email, send text message, receive text messages, etc. Once you have done this, reflect on the extent to which you use this technology and 1) whether you think Internet and cell phone use can be addictive and 2) what you think parents of adolescents can do to best socialize children in an electronic age.
