Greenwood and Levin (2007) closed their book on action research with a sobering

discussion of the pitfalls of the participatory nature of action research. Stringer and

Aragon (2021) discussed means by which those pitfalls can be avoided. Reflecting on all

you have learned about action research in this course, discuss the most critical elements

an action researcher should think about and address in order to avoid the pitfalls

Greenwood and Levin described. How might action researchers create truly democratic

processes that result in social change?
