The United Nations designated 2005 - 2015 as the Decade for Acton regarding water.   https://www.un.org/waterforlifedecade/

Water is in the news in many ways -

• droughts in California 
• Flooding in Pennsylvania, Texas, New York, N and S Carolina
• law suits and animosity between states that share a common water resource (Georgia vs Alabama or Colorado and Texas)
• contamination of drinking water supplies (Flint, MI)

These are just in the United States - water availability varies greatly across the globe. Yet humans require potable water to survive.

Find one significant issue related to water that was not discussed in Chapter 8 of your textbook. Make a case for the importance of your issue and why it should be included in future editions of the textbook.
