This week's chapter is 'Teaching Students with Special Gifts and Talents'. States differ in the way students who are Gifted/Talented are taught or provided services. It's considered a service and the student is placed on an Individualized Education Plan (IEP). In some school districts, the students are pulled out for a predetermined amount of time each week and taken to a different classroom for instruction. In other states, the students attend after-school programs for G/T. Do you agree with "grouping" gifted learners? Is so, what do you see as the benefits? If not, what do you see as the effects and what concerns do you have?
