PEERS POST:

ePortfolio Benefits – One place for individuals school work that can be used to network with others interested in the same courses.

ePortfolio Challenges –  ePortfolio was not easy to navigate. I tried multiple times to upload a new avatar and the item did not save. I was trying to use a picture from the web option provided by ePortfolio. I don't like that the esport option had me select previous course work for the summary option. I did not want to have this visible but that was the only way for me to export, unless I am doing something wrong. I will not be using ePortfolio unless required by a class, as soon as I finished plan on deleting everything on there.

EDU120 Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs)

Rating 1 – Not Confident

5 – Extremely Confident

Why Did I Give this Rating?

 (DEI)

1.     Examine learning theories and their relationship to learning and instruction.

3

I feel I understand the basics of learning theories and their relationship with learning and instruction.  I wish our text (Brown & Green, 2020) had a video instruction option. The readings were overwhelming for me.

We learned how the background of theories, how to asses learners and plan for student outcomes.  The course design should be well planned and have a way to track results.

2.     Examine instructional design models and strategies.

4

I feel a more confident about how to recognize the design models and strategies part of our instruction.

The goal of instructional design is to collaborate and create content based on audience and their learning styles. w

3.     Identify instructional design principles, terminology, and careers.

3

Careers & principles I feel more confident than with terminology. Since I am not active in an ID career, the terminology is new for me. I would need to continue to learn and understand the terminology in order to fell confident.

Working with experts in the field and having different perspectives will be very helpful.

4.     Develop instructional goals and measurable learning objectives.

5

Developing instructional goals and learning objectives has definitely been the part I have been most confident about. I enjoy creating a task list and seeing results. For me creating goals and objectives, is a way for me to stay on track and see results.

Instructional design goals and objectives should will help the SEM's see if the content is effective.

Conclusion

I thought this class was going to be a little easier and it was extremely hard for me. The different learning theories and instructional design models were a lot to understand and then think about how to make it work for the content.
