1. Read OPENSTAX textbook-chapters 22,23,24. These chapters provide you with the HISTORICAL CONTEXT for this unit.

3. Read Pocket Guide for TIPS for Evaluating Non written Primary Sources
4. Visit the WWI Museum (KCMO) or visit the online exhibit and choose ONE ARTIFACT. (Visit www.WorldWar I National Museum and Memorial)
5. Choose ONE ARTIFACT…Use it as the ‘SINGLE SOURCE”.
6. This ARTIFACT is the topic of the power point presentation.
7. Conduct research on the artifact and determine its role in World War I and its significance/impact on United States’ society.
8. Create a POWER POINT Presentation
REQUIREMENTS:
1. First establish the THESIS…Thesis is SLIDE #1 (after title page)
2. Provide Historical CONTEXT of topic/artifact
3. Identify 10 scholarly sources
4. Obtain minimum of 5 sources from JSTOR (KCKCC Library online database) and 5 sources from goggle scholar
5. 15 slides minimum (Does not include title page, thesis statement or bibliography)
6. The 15 slides ---data, images, etc. provide the relevant details that proves your thesis
7. Limit text on each slide to no more than 5-6 lines of text. Use images and color
8. Be creative
9. Footnote format—use Pocket Guide/Chicago Style Manual
10. Put footnote on EACH slide
11. LAST slide-Conclusion…this will restate the role that the artifact played in WWI and the significance/impact of United States’ society.
12. Bibliography-LAST slide. Use alphabetical order and see format in Pocket Guide
