In Chapter 4 (Contracting Overview) Block (2011) discusses the 9 Elements of a Contract. He suggests that the contract between the consultant and the organization should be written primarily for clarity, as opposed to enforcement.  He also suggests that this contract should be, “…brief, direct, and almost conversational” (p. 58).  Block then offers some examples to help clarify what he means by that statement. Based on the Block text, complete the following assignment using the Vanilla Healthcare Case Study as your base for the application of the 9 elements (see Checklist #2 in Chapter 4 of Flawless Consulting).

Part I will be theoretical and academic in nature.  In other words, cite Block regularly as you elaborate upon the 9 elements; Part I should describe and delineate each of the 9 elements.

Part II will be applied in nature.  In other words, provide an actual contract that is “…brief, direct, and almost conversational.”  Use the 9 elements again as your base, but provide whatever mock data you chose to use based on the Vanilla Healthcare Case Study.

Open the Week 4 - Writing A Contract.doc file and complete all sections of Part I (theory) and Part II (application).  The contract should be 4+ pages in length written in an MS Word format. Save your document and submit it to the instructor with the following file format: Week 4 - Contract_firstname_lastname.doc
