The New Work Job Tendency

When I walked in the writing class on Tuesday, personally I feel the silent that I never had. Everyone was on their phone, no one was chat with each other. At that moment, I feel the world has been changed a lot. Technically, our world has been changed into the whole new world--- E edge. Not only our daily life has been changed, but also the work jobs have been changed. More and more AI appeared, in order to fit for the new job environment, we should be a person who is creative and willing to accept the new staffs quickly.

We Need To Fill ‘New Collar’ Jobs That Employers Demand: IBM’s Rometty and 1 In 3 Americans Will Need to Switch Careers By 2030: Melinda Gates Reveals the No. 1 Way to Stay Employed are the two articles mainly talks about how future work job will be and these articles are also the article which I will mainly focus on and discuss the difference.

‘New Collar’ is the article written by the author Ginni Rometty. The article is mainly about there are more and more new collars have appeared. People who willing to find jobs nowadays should be the ones who can accept the new things as quick as possible. The other thing IBM is now trying to invest schools that mainly focus on training these people. Six-year public high schools combining a relevant traditional curriculum with necessary skills from community colleges, mentoring and real-world job experience. (P1, Ginni). In order to expand this thought, people, companies and governments should also realize this and work together to create the new collar work.

Ruth Umoh is the writer who writes the article “1 in 3”. In the future, more and more need to find new jobs. It is not hard for people to find a new job, but it is hard for you to adapt to the rapid advancement of automation and technology. The new way of working will be hard for people to get used to it. The way to success is that you should have the confidence tot face it and persist to it that is the main point to achieve success in the future life.

Although these two articles seem shared the same idea of the new tech will be main thing determine the future work tendency, but they have lots of point to compare with. First, the title of these two are not the same. When you read the first title, it seems more formal. It directly shows you the demand and what is the thing we need to fill for the new collar. But compare to the second one, it seems a little bit casual. 1 in 3 which arouse the interests among the readers make wonder what it means. From my personally point. I am more interested in the second one because it makes me feel interesting and want to figure out what the author really wants to talk about in the rest of the essay. But the first one is kind of formal which may make me feel board when I read it. But the first one is a wonderful article for the professional expert which is in that study field.

“25000, 6000 and 1 million” are the numbers which the author Ginnis used in the article. (P2, Ginni). In the first article the author uses lots of statics in order to illustrate how many jobs are being needed to be provided and also how many people are willing to enter the new tech working area. But let us take a look to the second one, the most things that appears in the article is the quote from different people like “Mckinsey, Gates and Rometty” (P1, Ruth). By using lots of statics make reader feel that the first article is an academic one but the quotes from the second one makes people feel that we are in the real conversation between different authorities. Although two authors use different methods of showing how the main idea were, these two ways also make reader convince to their arguments as well.

Job is always an important thing we need to consider in our future life. These two articles provide me a wonderful future guide. They not only let me how to better fit into this changeable world but also tell me to be a successful people should be able to adapt the new things as quick as possible. These two articles seem to have different but actually not. These two all make me learn a lot and these words from it are guiding me to the right position.
