In life, I believe that we are guided by the principles that we hold dear, what we believe in is what defines us. The values that we uphold are essential in defining how we act and the decisions that we make in our businesses (De Cremer & Moore, 2020). One of the main principles that define is are the ethical principles that we hold. This is a reference as to how we define what appears to be right and what is wrong, our basis for making oral judgments. It is of importance that as a person one holds a moral conduct as it counts towards the importance of all the decisions and the relations with the people.

My chosen career is in the field of human resources and as I deal with interactions on a daily basis with people, the ethical value that I most treasure is honesty. It is important that when dealing with people, one try their best to maintain honesty in all their dealings. It is only when we are honest that we are able to draw out the trust of the people that we work with. Relationships that are fostered on trust are more successful and will form a happy workplace that translates to greater output.

Ethics have defined me in how I communicate to people. Most of the time, I have to openly criticize people for a workplace behavior that is unbecoming. To achieve this, I must be as honest as possible so that I can ensure that I touch upon the factors at hand. It is for this reason that ethics are important in my professional work life.
