WEEK 4 DISCUSSION POST

Wk 4 discussion (A. Tajalle)

R.U Kidding is in a tough spot and the decision that he has to make is not an easy one. If Kidding chooses to blow the whistle about Rocket Man over-billing the government, the company will suffer financially and he and all other employees could lose their jobs. If Kidding remains quiet about the wrongdoing, it could possibly come to light in the future, and he would bear the weight on his shoulders knowing that his company is illegally obtaining money from the government. In this situation, Kidding must act ethically. If the company is overbilling now, it is possible they could get away with a lot more if this is not brought to anyone’s attention. 

If I was in Kidding’s shoes, I would blow the whistle. This means I would disclose this wrongdoing because it is in the publics best interest (Henriksson, 2019). Although this is a hard decision, I would feel like I would be doing the right thing by letting the authorities know. This decision will impact myself, the company, the government, and my colleagues.
