The statistical measures that identify a single value as representation of an entire distribution is what can be defined as central tendency. It’s a single value that is most typical representative of the collected data while its main aim is providing an accurate description of the entire data. The median, the mode and the arithmetic mean are some of the most common measures of the central tendency (Ghahramani et al 2021). Middle tendency can be calculated for either a finite set of values or for a theoretical distribution such as the normal distribution. The standard value of the data set is referred to as measure of tendency. Measure of central tendency’s main purpose is finding a single value that will serve as the representative of the entire distribution of scores (Ghahramani et al 2021). Measures of Central Tendency provide a summary measure that attempts to describe a whole set of data with a single value that represents the middle or Centre of its distribution.
