Chapter 3 discusses what a needs assessment is, what steps to follow, and how to evaluate the effectiveness of a needs assessment. Chapter 3 will assist you in completing the Assessing Instructional Needs discussion. Chapter 5 covers the process of conducting a learner analysis, including what an instructional designer needs to know about the learners, how to determine the common attributes, and how to determine if a learner analysis is accurate. Chapter 5 will assist you in completing the Conducting a Learner Analysis assignment.
