So how do you move the needle?” their effort in getting parents to read this article, see the benefits, and demand change from teachers and principals is evident in how much they stress the success of integrating physical literacy in schools. Throughout the article, the author ads comments and links other articles that support their point. Academic Article: Perceptions of the Effect of Recess on Kindergartners

In this informative article, The author states the benefits of more outdoor time/activities. They include how it affected not only Kindergartners but college students, teachers, and parents. The article strayed from including a personal story to relate to the audience, but they added a broad amount of bases that may resonate with the reader "The average child gets as little as 30 minutes of unstructured outdoor play, But spends seven hours using screens" The author acknowledges how times have changed. Kids are spending more time glued to screens and less time being active. The article includes how outdoor time can be a beneficial and healthier option "Time spent outdoors increases levels of vitamin D, which helps protect from bone problems, heart disease, diabetes, and other health risks (national wildlife federation, 2010)". They address the health issues with the lack of outdoor time in schools while maintaining a certain decorum. Their main focus is sharing different studies and information from health officials and experiments. They also give insight into why there is less recess time. This article also strived to be as transparent as possible, like stating bias in the results of the experiment "Further research could consist of a larger survey pool to obtain a wider array of responses. There might also be a difference in opinion based on rural or urban living and inquiries could be made to parents and teachers of older children in high school or college." Overall, instead of trying to persuade the audience, the author is trying to demonstrate different areas that have gotten results and share them with the reader while giving insight to reasoning.

Non-Academic Paper- Move over, “Sit Still” Why Kids Need to Move in School.

Sit, stand or kneel, the child gets to choose. According to the article, children physical literacy should be taught just like math literacy and reading literacy so that the child can grow up to have physical activities becoming a part of their everyday life. This is important because as our population increases, the rate of obesity also increases as our children are spending more time in front of technologies with screens that playing physical games outside. The Logos of this article it to help in the persuasions of getting more school to see the importance of making standing seats apart of the new classroom furniture. Therefore, the author needed to appeal to the emotions (pathos) of parents in the part of them seeing how it can impact their child both educationally and physically. As children are more attentive during class when they don’t have to worry about the teacher not wanting them to stretch when they are starting to get tried from the topic been taught or from sitting too long. They also appeal to school administrator as it wants them to see the importance of change and how it can greatly impact a child not just academically but how they interact with their peers.
