1) When innovators are able to things like the consumer we are able to better understand the issues with products, what improvements need to be made and then from there it can be created into a plan. Do you think if innovators were not customers Of their own probably products that it would be a success?

2) I hope all of you had a fun and relaxing 4th of July. In this DQ we are discussing the many different types of catalysts that help drive innovation. First and foremost, in any business model, meeting the needs of the consumer and target market should be the first catalyst. Second, being able to solve and adapt to situations also helps to drive innovation. Often times we see situations and products come out of these situations and were never planned, but a need was filled with that invention. Innovations are almost always driven from an idea completely unrelated. THe third catalyst that helps to drive innovation is the ability to learn from our mistakes. As humans, we are prone to messing up from time to time, and these mess-ups llow great opportunities to create innovations that can benefit the world. In order for an invention to be considered an innovation, it must first be accepted by the general public before all else, making each innovation unique (Harper, 2019). In my organization, these catalysts would help me control the business and always push me to create the best overall product based off of consumer needs.

3) I think the Cross Pollination is a catalyst that can benefit any innovation. In fact, most if not all-technological evolutions involve the pollination catalyst to frame the innovation. One of my first jobs was working at a video game store. I recall that with each new video game system, new combined ideas emerged. The system, which delivered the most featured, became bestseller. I do not have an organization but in the Department of Education, pollination as a means to innovation can be better exemplified in the infusion of technology and psychological expertise to create a suitable curriculum and services in schools. The second catalyst that works wonder is Dream Time. The best ideas flow when one is away from distractions. This usually occurs early morning or at any time in which the person can be isolated and tranquil. Cognitive studies have shown that without this time and space away from distractions we will continue to act as mere managers−wranglers of functions−instead of idea creators (Manso, 2017). This catalyst for innovation is excellent for educators. When teachers have the opportunity to disconnect from their duties and spend quality time thinking and planning, creative ideas are usually developed. New ways to create lesson plans among others can be developed. Employee Team Building is another great way to accelerate the process of innovation. These teams must be comprised of individuals who are receptive, creative, and have fresh ideas regardless of position. Employee teams that are innovation oriented can keep any company or organization competitive and well balanced.

4) The product in which my team and I have created has absolutely identified a problem within our market of how we park cars and charge people for parking in big cities. I don’t want to fully disclose our product/idea but our concept has completely identified the issue with parking spots, the availability of parking in certain locations and cities but it has also identified the problem of how we currently pay for these parking spaces/meters. I know that our idea would reset all customer expectations because it would revolutionize the way that individuals park entirely, from the parking spot that they are select and how they pay for this. Overall our product idea will have a positive impact on our customers, as it will help them find parking spaces even when a complex is busy and filled with a lot of cars already. I am so excited about the innovational idea my team has come up with and we look forward to presenting this!

5) When we look at the product that my team has identified and created I firmly believe that it has the ability to dramatically reset customer expectations. The reason I say this is because in the barbering, and cosmetology profession only less than a handful of companies control the market that produces clippers. Wahl and Andis are best known in the industry for this. You can either get clippers that are corded or clippers that are battery powered. Most barbers, and cosmetologists still utilize the corded clippers, and if they are using battery powered clippers they must purchase multiple because they only last a couple of hours at most on battery. Having a cordless clipper that you charge overnight, and utilize all day would dramatically change the industry. A self-charging clipper, that when used charges itself would allow the barber, and cosmetologist to focus on doing what they do best, and not have to worry about cords, or if the clipper is going to die any time soon. It will also have an impact on customers, because it could cut down on the time in the chair getting their haircut. Also they will not have cords possibly hitting them in the face, or getting tangled on them or the chair. Our team sees this a great change for the industry, and the customers.

6) The product our group has decided on is a great way to make the customer experience alot better.  People are forever needing haircuts and it is a booming business.  Our team decided to initiate the idea of a self charging set of clippers.  I have boys and I cut their hair sometimes and it is a pain dealing with the cords trying to get around their heads reaching every spot comfortably.  As far as actual barber shops and beauty salons it would be more convenient for them so they don't have to use the corded ones and it would maybe help with the amount of time customers spend in the shop.  There are other types of clippers but there are probably different accessories that need to be purchased in order to use those.  A self charging set of clippers would be a one time purchase and no need for anything else.   When we try to bring new ideas to certain products the purpose is for it to benefit the customer in some sort of way.  When the barber or stylist has better resources it is always better for the customer.
