Why I want to be an Officer
Mission first, people always is one important tool that was instilled in me as a Soldier. Without the people we would not be able to complete the mission. It is and it will always be about the people. Becoming a Commissioned Officer in the United States Army will afford me the opportunity to continue this mission by leading soldiers at the command level. The ability to lead can motivate, unite, and drive individuals and units to achieve results that far exceed expectations.
My experience in the military has allowed me to appreciate the effects of both excellent and poor leadership in a professional environment. Using the lessons I learned from my mentors, officers, and noncommissioned officers alike has enhanced my leadership qualities; and will allow me to propel soldiers to the highest level. Directly improve the Army of tomorrow through training and leading from the charge bestowed upon an Officer.
