When writing your introduction, don't announce or explain what you will be writing about. Your thesis statement should tell the reader that you are predicting three things that will change in 100 years; therefore, you don't need to write, "In this paper I will show," or "In this paper I will write about." Your thesis should be the last sentence in the first paragraph. The first sentence should be your hook. I marked a few things that need to be revised, but make sure you read through it one more time for sentence errors. Make revisions before submitting the final draft.

be sure you have edited your rough draft.  If your final draft has not been edited, it will not be graded, and you will receive a zero on the final draft.  The purpose of the rough draft is to get feedback and to make changes to the final draft. An successful essay will: 

1. Include an introduction paragraph with a "hook," a thesis statement, and a plan of development. 

2. Include three well-developed body paragraphs, each with a topic sentence and lots of interesting specific examples. 

3. End with a short conclusion paragraph that restates the thesis. 

4. Be at least 1 1/2 to 2 pages in length.

5. Avoid filler phrases, wordiness, or other efforts to stretch the length.

6. Take out any form of the word you and any contractions. 

7. Correctly use MLA format. 

8. Include few if any sentence structure or editing mistakes.
