Reflective
(From the first week)
Resilience is the ability to endure difficulties that an individual faces in the course of their life. It can also be described as one's capacity to rise up after falling due to the various challenges that we encounter in our day to day lives. Being resilient also means that one is strong, difficult to crack as well as tough.
When I think about resilience, what comes in my mind is a person who does not allow any obstacle or a shortcoming in their life to stop them from achieving or realizing their dreams and goals. Human beings are known to be a very resilient species. This is because they have, throughout history, managed to overcome many obstacles that could probably have destroyed other species.
Being resilient is a result of having a positive mindset. This makes one view challenges as being surmountable no matter how big or hard they seem before their eyes. A person that is able to adjust from one position where they are very comfortable to a different position where they could not be as comfortable can be described as being resilient. This means that they do not allow any obstacle that comes their way to hinder them from reaching their set goals. In other words, this can also be termed as unwavering or being very steadfast in life.
All in all, resilience comes as a result of experiencing life difficulties as well as taking to heart the life lessons that one gets. An individual who sees every challenge as an opportunity is worthy to be termed as resilient. This is what has been the mark hall of individuals who ended up becoming great men and women who left and continue to leave great marks in our society.
