Action: Read the below peer discussion board posts and provide your classmate with feedback on your opinion of their position. Do you agree and why? Do you disagree and why? Replies to your class members’ are intended to move the discussion forward. Telling them that they simply did a good job is not acceptable. Statements like "I feel", "I believe" and/or "I think" are difficult to measure and, highly, subjective. Asking a question or two about the position they took will move the discussion forward. In the article "Job Instructions: Four Steps To Success, which step do you feel is the most important and why?

The Four steps to success consists of preparing, presenting, trying out, and following up. Within the prepare step, that helps break down the job, prepare a plan, and make the learner feel more relaxed. The present step helps with telling, showing, demonstrating, and explaining. Trying out, is pretty much the learner walking through the job. Also, teaching the manager or supervisor how the job is done. Other factors include the learning doing the job on their own, as well as practicing as many times as possible. Lastly, it is also important to provide all types of feedback. Following up, always check progress and offer any assistance when needed (Gold, 1982).

In my opinion, I feel the preparation step is the most important. I have always believed you first need to create a plan to achieve success. Without planning first, you will not be as successful. If you are, it will be a lot harder to get there. Also, things will be more chaotic for you and definitely not easy. Therefore, preparing yourself is the first important step you need to walk through in order finishing the rest of the steps. In addition, if you are not prepared for something like this, basically you can not move on to the next step anyway. Becoming familiar with the job and feeling comfortable with it makes you a lot more confident in doing it. That leads to more motivation, then reaching your goal of success.
