History of Quality Movement

In this week I got to learn about the definition of Quality and various forms and factors related to the Quality Movement

Quality: According to Kerzner, “the totality of feature and characteristics of a product or service that bears on its ability to satisfy stated or implied needs.”

From early 1950s the change of quality control has been evolved in quality assurance with new principles, they are

· Zero-defect programs

· Total quality control

· The cost of quality

· Reliability engineering

For Quality Improvement there are various approaches some of them are

1. Deming’s 14 points for Management

2. Juran’s 10 steps to Quality Improvement

3. Crosby’s 14 steps to Quality Improvement

In my personal experience I got to learn that no matter what type of either job or skills you want to teach to your pupils you must tell them in a quality way I order to get understand in a better manner.

During my high school I was nervous to give a stage speech which I was really scared after practising weeks of getting perfection and taking lessons from my elder cousins I got the confidence of speaking on the stage in a fully structured manner and in quality form.

Continuous Improvement

With the increase of Sustained Competitive Position followed by the changing of time variance there is a need of Continuous Improvement to avoid from the Competitors Counterattack.

Continuous Improvement allows a firm to control competitive advantage even competitors counterattack within change of period.

With the changes in the Project Management Maturity the exploitation of the organization in that time the continuous improvement should be taken and observe the other competitors counterattack.

Managing Multiple Projects

In this week I got to learn about the factors which are the primary one’s when an organization takes multiple projects, they are

1. The cost of maintaining a full-time project manager is prohibited on all projects

2. The Line managers share the accountability of the successful project completion with the project mangers

3. Senior Management must provide a high standard quality training if they can achieve the benefits of managing multiple projects.

To manage the multiple project success the organization may have to change in six areas to get success in more than one projects, they are

1. Prioritization

2. Scope Changes

3. Capacity Planning

4. Project Methodology

5. Project Initiation

6. Organizational Structures

Just like the multiple projects for an organization, in my life I never perceived multiple task for myself during my postgraduate course; as there were as an

Submitting the assignments

Sharing the weekend plans

Which was easy to be see in theory but in real it was not easy to finish on time.

To manage all the tasks, I would finish the task which is going to be in due in few days.

To get all things done I made several changes during my week schedule in order to avoid from distraction.
