Re: Topic 7 DQ 2

Hello Class,

The intersection between ethnicity and Christianity is highly evident in the United States of America. Religious groups form the ethnicity identification. For instance, most Africa-Americans belong to black churches (Hemeyer, 2016). The Asian community value being part of the Asian Christian Churches. The Hispanics embrace the Catholicism faith as values match their cultural practices (Hemeyer, 2016). The way of dressing and common foods serves as uniting factors for the ethnic groups in Christianity. The ethnic communities love to worship together as they have a common language that they clearly understand, making it easy to assemble. The development of ethnic Christianity groups in the United States helps to teach young children the customs and encourage their preservation across generations (Hemeyer, 2016). Hence, ethnicity and Christianity intersect for cultural identity.

Re: Topic 7 DQ 2

For American history, religion and race provide rich categories of observation. In light of historical and cultural circumstances, they evolve, move, and develop. The formation, deconstruction, and transgression of racial identities and boundaries have all been aided by religion. Racial identities and disparities in America date back to the first interactions between Europeans, Native Americans, and Africans. In American history, access to religious and political power has affected how race has been conceived. Racial differences and religious ties shaped how groups saw one another throughout the colonial period.
