Interview Presentation: Questions
To prepare:

· Ask your interview subject the questions below. Be sure to record the interview and/or take good notes.
During the interview, ask the individual the following interview questions:
· Have you ever lived or visited outside of the United States? If so, where? Describe the experience.
Lived in El Paso all my life but because of my work I travel to many countries
Every three months i visited different countries
Nicaragua: One of my favorites. The people are amazing. They love to show you all of their culture, food, music and just the beauty of the country is amazing. Aside from all the political struggles, everyone still live pretty happy.
Dubai: A very rich country. Rich monetary!! Clean and so disaplined. Such a structured country. They don’t disrespect anybody. The culture is beautiful. Food amazing!!
· What do you identify as your culture? Mexican
· What are the most important values and beliefs of your family and community? As family, Mexican culture is big, we have so much. From the religious values especially Catholics, to the holidays that are celebrated. Holidays we celebrate very big, nothing is ever small.
· What are the important events, traditions, celebrations, and practices in your family or community? Dia de los Muertos, Christmas but latino way is very different with Posadas, 16th of September, Dia de la Madre (mothers day), Dia del Nino (celebrating children), Dia de los Reyes Magos (this would be the actual day to receive your gifts).
· How does your family or community define gender roles?
We as a family we define as how we were. I am a female, my sister define as female, and so does my other sister. My daughter defines herself as a female. But as a culture in Mexican American culture, it was not accepted up until lately.
· How do you identify your:
· Race – White but I consider myself brown
· Ethnicity - Latina

· Color – Tanish (not white and not to dark)n

· Sexual orientation- Prefer men
· Gender identity or expression – I’m female
· Age- 51
· Marital status – Divorced
· Political belief – Hate politics – especially now
· Religion – Well was raised very traditional Catholic, don’t practice much, but do have strong beliefs
· Immigration status – American
· Disability status – not yet – still working for my social security
· How well do you fit within your family or community based on these other identities you hold? El Paso is a very accepting community. We are diverse in some aspects. It is a still a growing city.
· How do you think others outside your community view your culture? Many love El Paso. It’s a very strong community.
· Have you experienced prejudice or discrimination? Please describe. I have experienced it, not too much in El Paso but in other cities in the great USA I have. It was at a restaurant, in the middle of Texas, and basically they were very rude and didn’t want to attend us. I was outraged thinking that we still have such closed minded people.
