Shuffling People Into the Wrong Job Just Because They are Already on the Payroll

The article I have decided to share is shuffling employees into the wrong job just because they are on the payroll

This article advises against slotting people into employee roles that are absolutely not for them.

This process erodes the confidentiality of the team when the person is well known by the team and was functioning in an completely different role.

The article focuses on the hiring process and the importance of using the best strategies to put the right employees on the right job.

Relevant experience in the reshuffled role is very crucial. Would you hire an auto mechanic to fly a plane? Of course you cannot. Just because they work in the aviation sector is not a guarantee that the auto-mechanic can pilot a plane. We must stop this assumption.

To succeed, building the right team is essential for individual and organizational performance (Deeb, 2017).

It is crucial to get the most qualified individual who can bring a sure experience in the role.

Detailed schematic building plans, including an approved Building Information Card

Limiting the length of horizontal transfer corridors used to connect a stairwell to 50 feet or less in buildings more than 75 feet high

Luminous markings delineating the exit path in buildings more than 75 feet high to facilitate rapid egress and full building evacuation

Installing an emergency responder radio communications system to provide the required level of radio coverage throughout a building.

  • People believe that shuffling talent around internally is best for business but this does not bear fruit (Deeb, 2017).
  • Internal shuffles are not completely wrong, they can work sometimes.
  • Moving a sale person to the business development sector or even an accountant to a controller will basically help the company and enhance loyalty.
  • But you will agree with me that trying to mold a “gatherer into a hunter” results to a big mess.

Relevance of the Article

This article is very crucial in the global human resource management because it highlights the importance of using the best strategies in hiring of employees to fill positions.

Putting employees in new positions should follow a systematic process by developing job descriptions, having candidates, and selecting the right (Stewart & Brown, 2012).

As a human resource manager, it is your responsibility to perform a job analysis to identify knowledge, skills, and abilities for every position.

You need to create a job description and selection criteria, generate a pool of candidates, interview them, and select the best candidate.

The success of an organization can be defined by the kind of employees they have. Skilled, knowledgeable, experienced, and motivated employees drives the success of a company (stewart & Brown, 2012).

When reshuffling, it should be done in s systematic manner based on someone’s skills, knowledge and experience.
