Consider the conditional rule: “If I study hard, then I will do well on my final assignment.” How would you confirm this rule as valid using the form of reasoning known as denial of the consequent? Why would it not be helpful in testing the rule to see what happens if you do not study hard? Explain what could be the consequences of this type of reasoning and decision-making.
