Week 4: Assignment Research paper Evaluation

Instructions: 

To submit your assignment, click on the heading above to access the assignment dropbox. 

1.       Do Pub-med, Google scholar, CINAHL, Cochrane Library search and identify a research paper on health promotion and disease prevention.

2.       Paper must be from a  Peer Reviewed Journal.

3.       Current Research paper is required ( written within the last 5 years)

4.       Studies can include the following types: meta-analysis, systematic review, cross-sectional survey, case-control, cohort, case series or a background paper etc.

5.       Articles  cannot  include expert opinion, opinion papers, position papers, commentary, reviews, or letters to the editors.

6.       Read title and abstract and download the full PDF research article.

7.       Attach research article with the presentation

Create a PowerPoint presentation and include following:

 A. Write the Title of the article.

 B. What question you created to get to the research article?

 C. List which database you use to acquire the article.

 D. Write Journal full name,  Year, Month, and Issue of the Journal in which article appears. 

 E. Define journal impact factor and list the most resent journal impact factor.

 F. Review author's credentials and describe why you trust authors? 

G. List study design (systematic review, meta-analysis, cohort study, case-control study, cross sectional survey etc.)

 H. Summarize the results of research article?

 I. How can you apply information from research article on a community or an individual or a population?

J. Citations

This presentation requires APA format, cover page, and a reference page if applicable. Total Points: 100 Points.
