For this assignment, you will develop a standard operating procedure (SOP) for guestroom cleaning. Your SOP should describe in detail the procedure that should be followed by housekeepers from the time they approach the vacant, dirty guest room until they enter the room back into inventory. Your SOP should provide details for every step needed to turn the guestroom from dirty to clean, including every item and every move. Your description should be thorough enough that a newcomer could understand and follow it.

Your SOP should include detailed descriptions of how housekeeping staff should:

1. Enter the guestroom.

2. Strip the beds of the dirty linen and check for bed bugs.

3. Clean surfaces. Specify the items that should be cleaned, wiped, dusted, etc.

4. Make the beds.

5. Re-set amenities and accessories, including marketing materials.

6. Conduct the final inspection.
