Uber operates almost all around the world and has a very interesting and useful interface and an efficient information system. Uber and Lyft can be used as a model for every new taxi service that is designed. They have a very resourceful system which provides every facility of a taxi service and has a very simple interface which can be understood by everyone.
Carz taxi service is till very traditional in their approach. They still use email and telephone services to book a cab. Carz need to upgrade their systems and designed a web-based application for their users to book a taxi. For this purpose, taking guidance from Uber and Lyft applications is the best approach. The development team at Carz has been working tremendously to come up with many ways through which they can incorporate the latest techniques.
Carz need to develop a mobile application that will make it very easy for customers to contact their drivers and talk to them without any communication hurdle. Uber and Lyft have a very great feature where they take the help of Google Maps and ensure that drivers cane easily see the customer's pickup and drop off location. This makes it very easy for the customer to call a driver without any hassle. This is what Carz should incorporate to make its customer satisfaction the topmost priority. It will not only help drivers in picking up more rides, but it will also reduce the number of irregular communications between the driver and the customer.
Carz have given a lot of power to the driver, whereas Uber and Lyft have set the customer as their topmost priority. Carz should also give the people who are calling the car, the facility to book a taxi whenever they desire rather than on the availability of the car's driver. There should be multiple drivers available at one time to fulfil the increasing demand of the taxi service.
The development team at Carz is trying to present a proposal about integrating a web chat service into the Carz service facility. This will help them in creating a service that will enable direct and easy communication between users and drivers. In this way, both drivers and users can interact with each other directly without any assistance from the Carz staff. It could also help drivers in eradicating the communication gap, and riders can easily guide the driver to their desired location without unnecessary roaming.
There can be some drawbacks to Carz's new features. One of the big drawbacks that can occur is the live web chat can lead to some users having concerns about the privacy of the Carz application. There can be drawbacks to drivers getting access to customer's private information. Applications like this always have a concern about the security breach and privacy disruptions. So, it is one of the main factors that Carz needs to work on before implementing web chat services. Uber and Lyft are notorious for having security breaches and then hiding the loss form the world.
There is another important danger looming with Carz is that it will make transport very easy for everyone resulting in people not using public transportation. Having your own cab results in increased numbers of cars on roads, which will just increase pollution (Bowers, 2020). Another big problem that Carz needs to deal with is the unprofessional behaviour of drivers. As most people drive Carz taxi as a second job, they are not very efficient in maintaining the professional behaviour that a customer demand (Jalloh, 2019). This problem can be removed by thoroughly screening any new driver that Carz hires.
