Many times, it will be up to you as a manager to make a decision, and the responsibility will fall on you. Therefore, it is important to understand the different aspects of how to make effective decisions. Case analysis provides this practice; so when faced with a real- world decision you know how to make the right decision Part of analyzing a case is determining what is and what is not important. Managers must be able to pick vital pieces of information. When you are able to sort out the relevant information from the irrelevant information, the problem becomes clearer and the solution is easier to find. It is important to remember the communication aspects involved in making a sound decision. Arriving at a good solution to either a real-world problem or a case study will involve communicating with others for input, more information, clarification, and so on. Listening is one of the communication techniques that will be very important in problem solving. Finally, it is important to reflect on your decisions and analyze whether you made the correct decision or arrived at the best solution to the problem. Taking time for reflection is important because it gives you the ability to realize what you did right and what you did wrong, so that in the future you do not make the same mistakes.
