Performance Management

Increase in modern corporations, have encouraged companies to focus on performance measurement and management to achieve organizational mission and goals in an efficient and successful way. They also support and facilitate business strategy implementation which optimizes resource allocation and improve performance. Although performance management is very vital to organization but is very challenging to manage. Scorecard, targets, KPIs, performance reviews, incentives, measures etc. are various tools and techniques that are utilized to understand performance management. They also help identify common areas that need improvements. For performance management to impact and improve positive impacts on employee’s performance the reason and periods at which they are conducted must be clearly defined and understand prediction of optimal outcomes is the final goal. (Bititci, Cocca, & Ates, 2016)

The alignments and control that performance management bring to the organization a positive work environment if well structured at the same time flexible to fit all various personalities.

Organizational structure centralizes various unique individual employees’ components and understand the interrelation, this integration has enabled a centralized decision-making which priorities optimal way of assessing employee performance which are valid regardless of situation. (Bournea, Franco-Santosa, Michelib, & Pavlov, 2018)

Leadership behavior

Individual traits, actions and abilities that make someone guide, influence, motivate others to achieve goals apart from their own. It is the abilities to strategize and increase the effectiveness of people around them and overall, the company. (Cypra, 2017).

Resource Allocation: Leaders should possess the ability to identify which employees fit where based on their experience and skills.

Conflict Resolution: It is an important trait for the leader to resolve conflicts and take unbiased actions against differences and inappropriate work attitude.

Strategic Planning: Leaders must be able to provide sustainable plans and procedures to operate effectively and efficiently

Reporting: Accurate monitoring and governance over every process and reporting their statuses and progress help provide insights on the performance of the company from small departments to the entire company.

Budgeting: Leaders must have the ability to allocate finances and ensure the company have financial stability and sustainability.

The two organizational capabilities

Accountability: Accountability is an important organizational capability; it not only takes credit for the positive impact of the work they but also build a governance model that holds everyone accountable for the errors that occur. It also important how leaders and organizations respond to such accountability.

Innovation: Innovation is providing the employees the freedom to build new processes and challenging existing ineffective models and processes. While ensuring that employees have the freedom to innovate it is also important there is no scope creep and unnecessarily waste time. (Huang & Li, 2017)
