"The impact of covid-19 on online teaching in relation to the use of ICT according to primary teachers' perceptions in sub-Saharan Africa."

Research Problem/Questions

The emergence of COVID-19 brings educational challenges leaving students and teachers in trouble. This pandemic posed challenges for students when it comes to learning and for teachers when it comes to teaching. Closure of schools and shifting school schedules impacts everyone directly or indirectly. This paper aims to introduce who these challenges could be addressed by implementing ICT effectively. ICT use in learning and teaching on online platforms would be helpful to maintain equality and also draws the attention of policymakers and legal decision-makers to think about solutions that could better address these challenges (Baker, Peeley, & Danials, 2019).

Research questions that this paper will answer are as follows;

1. What is the impact of COVID -19 on online teaching in relation to the use of ICT according to teachers` perceptions?

1. How can the use of ICT contribute to reducing the challenges that teachers face in online teaching?

1. How effective is the online teaching by using ICT tools due to COVID-19?

Sample/Participants

This research focuses on the population of sub-Saharan Africa and aims to implement ICT technology according to the primary teachers’ perceptions in sub-Saharan Africa. There will be 30 female teachers from primary schools of Africa who will participate in research, and their perception of ICT technology will be recorded to interpret its effectiveness to address the problem. Schools will be randomly be selected from different regions of Africa, and only female teachers will participate because female teachers faced huge challenges while teaching online. Female teachers failed to maintain a balance in work and professional life that leads to family complications. Thus, the paper's primary focus will be met when female participants will respond to research questions.

The Research Method Design

By using a mixed research method, research questions will be addressed. Qualitative research will be used to evaluate the effectiveness of the problem and evaluate its mental, physical and emotional impact on teachers from selected schools. And quantitative research will be used to measure the frequency of the problem and how many teachers are experiencing mild and drastic outcomes.

Tools

Research tools for this paper will be interviews because direct coordination with teachers will be helpful to evaluate their behavior and record accurate responses. Interviews will be scheduled and planned with similar questions from all the participants to measure the effectiveness of the problem. Planned and scheduled interviews from all the participants will be helpful to manage data and use it for interpreting research questions.

Method of Data Collection

Direct interaction and interviews will be used to collect and interpret data. During the collaboration with participants, I will write their responses and then generalize information to discuss the problem and propose solutions. Data collected through direct or face-to-face interviews will be accurate and reliable to propose solutions.

Methods of Data Analysis

Descriptive tables and textual analysis will be used to analyze data and to make generalizations. Descriptive tables and textual analysis will be used to filter out results and talk about ICT technology's effectiveness.

Ethical Considerations

Research participants will not be forced and subject to harm during interaction with them. While conducting and interacting with them, I researched who will take care of their dignity and value their opinions. To ensure the effectiveness of the research and to explore most research, consent will be confirmed.
