Continuous improvement should always be a priority for every organizations. From a business perspective it is vital for organizations to stay current with all standards and practices in order to ensure the latest and greatest methods are being utilized especially as it relates to information assurance/information governance. Not staying current may cause vulnerabilities within the network infrastructure which can jeopardize the organization’s reputation, relationship with clients, and can cause litigation actions.

There are continuous improvement plans that are available to organizations that are in the business of information governance. According to asq.org, continuous improvement can be implemented in an incremental approach over time or it can come in the form of one major improvement. Organizations that are involved in continuous improvement will often be in a better position to remain competitive and create a long-lasting organization.
